Privacy Policy — Mattered?

The short version

Mattered? collects nothing about you. There's no account and no sign-in. Your check-ins never leave your device. The app's only network activity is downloading an anonymous weekly challenge and tips — content comes down, nothing about you ever goes up.

Data Collection

Mattered? does not collect any personal data. There are no accounts, no email capture, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting tools, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party trackers of any kind built into the app. Our App Store privacy label is, truthfully, "Data Not Collected."

Data Storage

Everything you enter into Mattered? — your daily check-ins and the year-in-green grid they build — is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's on-device storage. We have no servers that hold your data and no access to it.

The One Network Call

Mattered? makes exactly one kind of network request: it downloads a single, anonymous content file containing a rotating weekly challenge, fresh tips, and an optional community figure we publish ourselves. The rule is absolute — content comes down, nothing about you goes up.

This request carries no user identifier, no device identifier, no analytics, and no telemetry. It contains nothing that identifies you or describes your check-ins. The app is fully functional with no network connection at all — if the download has never succeeded or fails, Mattered? quietly uses content bundled inside the app.

Sharing

If you choose to share your grid, the app generates an image containing only the visual grid and a true consistency count (for example, "stayed conscious 240 days"). It is structurally incapable of including any per-day detail or anything personal, and you always see a preview before anything is shared.

Third Parties

Mattered? contains no third-party SDKs, analytics tools, advertising networks, or external services. There is no upward data flow of any kind — no community aggregation, no feed, no friend comparison, no sync.

Cost

Mattered? is free, with no subscription, no one-time unlock, no tip jar, and no in-app purchases. There is nothing to buy and no payment information involved.

Children's Privacy

The app collects no data from anyone, including minors under 13.
