What does Later? actually do?
Later? is a fast queue for fleeting thoughts. Speak or type something you want to deal with later — look up, buy, visit, watch, email — and Later? reads it and figures out the best action. When you're ready, one tap opens the right handoff. Mark it done and it clears. It's built to be emptied, not hoarded.
How does the voice capture work? Is my audio sent anywhere?
Tap the mic and speak. Transcription runs entirely on your device using Apple's Speech framework with on-device recognition. No audio is ever uploaded, stored externally, or heard by anyone. It works fully offline.
Is it free? What's the catch?
Later? is free to download and use. Capturing, clearing, notes, widgets, and weekly stats are free forever, and the free tier includes five smart actions per day (search, maps, shopping, email, and watch — shared across all of them). Plain notes are always unlimited. There's an optional one-time upgrade if you want more.
What is Later? Plus?
Later? Plus is a single one-time purchase ($3.99, no subscription) that unlocks unlimited smart actions, auto-purge control (keep thoughts 7, 14, or 30 days), more search and shopping destinations (DuckDuckGo, Bing, Amazon), and all-time stats with your most-used action. Pay once — it's yours forever and restores across your devices.
Do I need an account?
No. There's no account, no email, and no sign-in, ever. You open the app and start capturing.
Why do my thoughts disappear?
By design. Later? is a conveyor belt, not a warehouse. Items auto-purge after 14 days by default (7, 14, or 30 with Plus). If you haven't acted on something by then, it probably wasn't that important. Acknowledge or act on the things that matter, and let the rest clear.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Open the paywall or Settings and tap "Restore Purchase." Because Later? Plus is a one-time non-consumable tied to your Apple ID, it restores for free on any device signed in with the same Apple ID.
Does Later? work without internet?
Yes. Voice capture, transcription, the queue, notes, and auto-purge all work fully offline. Smart actions open other apps or websites (a search, a map, a shop), so those handoffs need a connection when you choose to act on them.
