Common questions
Does Living Doodles redraw my child's drawing?
No. It moves your child's own lines, colours and wobbles, exactly as they drew them. Models built into the app find the drawing's parts and joints on your phone; nothing is redrawn, restyled or replaced, and nothing is uploaded.
How do I get a good photo of a drawing?
Lay the page flat in good light and fit the whole sheet in the frame. Darker lines cut out more cleanly than faint pencil, but any drawing works: you can fix the cut-out afterwards.
The cut-out or the joints look wrong. What do I do?
Tap Fix on the stage. Paint over anything the cut-out missed, erase anything it caught by mistake, and drag a joint to where the elbow, knee or head really is. It takes a few taps, and the drawing moves the way you set it.
My child drew a dog, a car or a sun, not a person. Will it move?
Yes. Every drawing moves. A drawing that is not a person bounces or wobbles, and with Plus it can also squash, or trot on its own legs if it has them.
How do I save a video?
Tap Save on the stage and answer the grown-up question. The video goes to your photo library. Saving is always free and never watermarked. If saving fails, open the Settings app, find Living Doodles, and set Photos to "Add Photos Only".
What does Living Doodles Plus cost, and is it a subscription?
Living Doodles Plus is a single $5.99 purchase: never a subscription, no trial, nothing expires. Free, you get unlimited drawings, the wave, walk, jump, bounce and wobble moves, and one world. Plus adds every other move and unlimited worlds. Everything made before or after stays playable either way.
Do I need to pay again on a new phone?
No. Plus is tied to your Apple ID. On the new phone, tap a locked move, answer the grown-up question, and tap "Restore purchase".
I deleted the app or got a new phone. Where are my drawings?
Living Doodles keeps drawings only on your phone; it has no account and no sync. An iCloud or Mac backup of your iPhone includes them, so restoring that backup brings them back. Deleting the app without a backup removes them.
Does Living Doodles work without internet?
Yes, completely. Photographing, fixing, animating, colouring and saving all work with no connection.
